Position Overview

As an IT Operations Engineer – Intermediate, you'll be responsible for supporting and maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performing IT environments. You'll work across both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, handle technical issues with increasing independence, and help ensure business-critical systems remain stable and available.

This role is ideal for an IT professional with strong hands-on infrastructure experience who is comfortable troubleshooting complex issues, working with different teams, and contributing to improvements in operational processes and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems

  • Administer and maintain server, storage, network, and other infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Ensure infrastructure is properly patched, updated, secured, and aligned with relevant standards.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and authentication services.
  • Support infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activities.
  • Maintain backup and disaster recovery processes to support business continuity.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining infrastructure security controls.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

  • Investigate and resolve issues involving operating systems, applications, networks, and infrastructure services.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests while maintaining ownership through resolution.
  • Work with internal technical teams to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Escalate complex or high-impact issues when necessary while keeping relevant stakeholders informed.
  • Test infrastructure changes, new technologies, and system improvements before production implementation.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend solutions to improve system reliability.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Cloud Engineering, Product, Support, and other technical teams to maintain reliable IT services.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Contribute to automation and tooling initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Share technical knowledge and support the onboarding and development of Associate-level engineers.
  • Participate in initiatives that improve infrastructure performance, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.

About You

  • You have solid hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or IT operations.
  • You're comfortable troubleshooting technical issues and working through problems independently.
  • You remain organized and effective when handling multiple priorities or unexpected incidents.
  • You know when to work independently and when to seek support from more experienced team members.
  • You take a proactive approach to identifying issues and improving existing processes.
  • You understand the importance of security, reliability, scalability, and performance in IT environments.
  • You communicate clearly and can work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT operations, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, networking, servers, and infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, backup and recovery solutions, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of system security, access management, and basic disaster recovery practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Server+, AWS SysOps Administrator, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent are an advantage.

Work Setup
