Senior Network and Security Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network and Security Engineer to support enterprise-wide network and security operations across multiple locations. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and support of LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, and cloud networking environments. The position will report to the Director of IT.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, support, and enhance enterprise LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure.
• Administer and maintain firewall and security platforms, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
• Design and implement network and cloud security controls to protect systems and data.
• Support enterprise DNS/DNSSEC services in a Windows-based environment.
• Monitor network performance, utilization, and security posture using industry-standard tools.
• Perform packet capture, traffic analysis, and troubleshooting in coordination with SOC operations.
• Build, deploy, and support security tools and services such as SIEM, endpoint protection, and cloud security solutions.
• Design network architectures and documentation using tools such as Visio.
• Support data center networking environments and ensure high availability standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams on network and security deployment strategies.
• Lead and coordinate with remote network and security engineers.
• Respond to security incidents in partnership with SOC teams to maintain system integrity and reliability.
• Ensure network uptime and performance targets are consistently met.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to meet service expectations.

Required Experience and Skills

• 7–10 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network and security environments.
• Strong expertise in firewall technologies (FortiGate or equivalent), Cisco switching, wireless infrastructure, and VPN configurations.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience designing and supporting IDS/IPS solutions and network security architectures.
• Hands-on experience with command-line configurations and advanced troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in network monitoring and analytical tools.
• Strong understanding of SOC operations and security event correlation.
• Experience managing and supporting wireless infrastructure.
• Knowledge of PKI architecture design and implementation.
• Familiarity with secure web gateway and zero trust solutions (e.g., Zscaler ZIA/ZPA) is a plus.
• Strong data center networking experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Network Engineering, or a related field
  or equivalent hands-on experience (7–10 years).
• Cisco certifications are a plus.
• FortiGate certification is a plus.
