Our client is a well-established Australian public-practice accounting firm offering direct, day-to-day engagement with its Business Services team.
You'll collaborate closely with a Senior Accountant who provides ongoing feedback, hands-on coaching, and structured training to accelerate your professional growth. You'll also interact regularly with the Director and participate in team meetings and firm-wide training ensuring your contribution is seen and valued from day one.

Conduct quarterly reviews of client Xero files to meet firm standards
Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS)
Prepare year-end financial statements and income tax returns for Sole Traders, Partnerships, Trusts, and Companies
Perform ad-hoc bookkeeping, payroll, and custom management/benchmarking reports in Xero
Liaise with the ATO on client matters as required
Maintain workflow tasks, WIP, and client invoicing in XPM
Participate in internal training sessions and knowledge-sharing meetings
Degree in Accounting (CA/CPA preferred but not required)
3+ years of experience in Australian public practice
Advanced Xero skills, including:
Bank reconciliations
Invoicing and payroll
Report layouts and tax reporting
Fixed assets and financial statement/tax mapping
Confident with (or quick to learn):
XPM
SuiteFiles / Microsoft SharePoint
Adobe
CAS 360
Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of Australian GST, income tax, and reconciliations
Proven ability to complete financial statements and tax returns through to review stage
Excellent written and verbal English for daily collaboration with the Australian team
Adaptable, proactive, and committed to professional growth
Nice to have: SMSF exposure
