Security Analyst I

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Security Analyst I to work with our client, a US-based Managed Service Provider (MSP). In this role, you will support various clients by monitoring and enhancing their cybersecurity posture, investigating incidents, and providing expert guidance to address potential threats and vulnerabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the cybersecurity field while contributing to the protection of diverse client environments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess security alerts across various client environments to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.

• Investigate and analyze security incidents, determine root causes, and provide detailed reports to clients with actionable insights.

• Proactively analyze intrusions, incidents, and vulnerabilities within customer environments to recommend improvements.

• Collaborate with clients to identify areas for enhancing their security posture and implement effective solutions.

• Stay updated on current industry-wide attack patterns, security trends, and best practices to provide informed recommendations.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

• Principles and best practices in information security.

• Network security architecture and design.

• SIEM, Syslog, and other logging applications.

• Configuration and management of routers and access control devices.

• TCP/IP networking protocols and troubleshooting.

• Fundamentals of firewalls, IPS, and Advanced Threat Detection (ATD).

• Cybersecurity and SIEM logging basics.

Preferred:

• Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or a related field.

• At least 1 year of experience in Information Security or Networking.

• Familiarity with programming languages and tools such as Unix, Python, C++, Java, PowerShell, or Bash.

• Security-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH).

• 1+ years of hands-on experience in information security or networking.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Self-motivated with a drive to stay current on the latest security trends, tools, and threats.
