Sr. Linux Storage Administrator

Our client, a leading storage software company, is looking for a Linux Administrator with expertise in storage to join their global support team. This role involves providing advanced technical support for customers using the companys custom Linux-based storage software, primarily utilizing ZFS and Ceph.

As a Linux Administrator with storage expertise, you will assist customers with setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of their storage environments, and contribute to technical research and content development.

Key Responsibilities

• System Administration & Support: Manage and administer Linux-based systems, providing expert support for storage-related issues, including setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of storage solutions using technologies like ZFS and Ceph.
• Technical Research & Testing: Lead technical research projects, testing and implementing new storage solutions and features to improve system performance for customers.
• Technical Content Development: Create and publish technical documentation, articles, and guides on storage technologies and Linux system management, contributing to the company's knowledge base and blog.
• Customer Support: Handle support tickets via Zendesk or similar platforms, providing in-depth assistance with system setup, troubleshooting, and configurations. Guide customers through system installations, upgrades, and optimal configurations for Linux-based storage environments.
• Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python, Perl) to streamline system configurations, installations, and troubleshooting for improved operational efficiency.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Linux Systems Expertise: Extensive experience with Linux system administration, including managing storage configurations and resolving issues in Linux-based environments.
• Storage Technologies: Familiarity with storage technologies such as ZFS, Ceph, and OpenZFS for storage management and optimization.
• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl to automate tasks, troubleshoot issues, and monitor system performance.
• Backup & Surveillance Software: Experience with backup and surveillance software like Veeam Backup, Milestone Video Surveillance, and Dalet Media Asset Management is a plus.
• Virtualization & System Management: Hands-on experience with virtualization tools such as VMware, Hyper-V, and/or Proxmox/KVM.
• Support Platform Proficiency: Experienced with using support platforms like Zendesk to handle and manage customer support interactions effectively.
